Jussi Parikka is completing his PhD thesis and a book manuscript on Digital Contagions: A Media Archaeology of Computer Viruses (forthcoming from Peter Lang, 2007). He has published various essays on digital culture, media history and theoretical issues in humanities both in Finnish and English. He is now starting on a new project on An Insect Theory of Media. He is also working as a co-editor on two books: The Spam Book. Anomalous Objects of Digital Culture (with Tony Sampson, forthcoming from Hampton Press) and Archaeologies of Media (with Erkki Huhtamo). From Spring 2007 on, Parikka is working as a visiting Research Fellow in Media Studies, Humboldt University, Berlin.
