Since completing his PhD in 2004, Grant Taylor has developed the history and theory program for new media art at The University of Western Australia. Recently, Taylor has moved to the US and now teaches within LVC´s Art History and Digital Communications program. In broad terms, Taylor’s research interest centres upon the relationship between the philosophy of art and the history and theory of twentieth-century science and technology. Taylor´s PhD, "The Machine that Made Science Art: The Troubled History of Computer Art 1963-1989" was awarded a Distinction in 2005. As an art history researcher, Taylor continues to work closely with major international art and science collaborative research initiatives, most notably SymbioticA.
